I have done the tutioral and cannot get speech recognition to work.  Need to
know how to get the icon on desktop to.  I tried "start listening" and
nothing happens.

I have disabled UAC on a Vista machine so that I can connect to it from
a remote location and change its configuration. However, every time the
Vista machine is restarted a window opens above the tray telling the
user that UAC is off and that they should "click here" to turn it on.

I have not been able to download yahoo messenger since I got this computer.  
I tried to download Windows Live and it would only download the sign in
part-not the messenger, mail or any of the rest .....any ideas on why I can't
download these programs?

I am trying a new install on a new machine. I have 2 WD 250 GB drives.
When VISTA installs it tells me the first drive is not recognized as
boot drive and won't load. I tried to install on second drive and get a

I want to upgrade my vista basic to vista ultimate but the disc will not let
me do it.  I can do a clean install but I'm not favoring that option.  What
am I doing wrong?

Embarrassed to say I have been reading community posts and trying to install
flash player to IE for over a year now.  I have tried the uninstall,
reinstall etc...even having somebody walk me through checking the registry.

I bought 2 copies of vista, one for my laptop and one for my desktop. I've
just received notification that I need to activate Windows, so I enter the
first product key. It says it's already in use. I enter the second product
key - again, says that it's in use.... Really puzzled! ...
