My Windows Vista stopped responding irregulary, without any error.
The last thing I installed was Apple's quicktime.
Removed the i-tunes part, via control panel of course. Now everything
seems to be working fine again.

I am planning on purchasing a full version of Vista Ultimate. I am currently
running XP Pro. My question is, before I install Vista will I need to format
my hard drive, or does the installation process do this for you?

I had Win XP installed and then added Win Vista Home Premium as a new install
and not an upgrade.
On setting up the system and adding all programs and such, ran in to a
