Vista and OneCare problems20 Feb 2007 04:12 GMT13
I've used One Care (beta versions) for a couple years now on Windows XP and
have never had a problem.  I subscribed to Onecare just prior to upgrading to
Vista and can't seem to get One Care to work properly.  There are 2 problems
that are, in my opinion, serious.

For anybody who knows Autopatcher for Vista is a program that provides all

They have been around for several years with versions for XP x64, XP and
Windows 2000.
Command Prompt Here20 Feb 2007 03:17 GMT4
I really miss the "command prompt here' that I added to XP.
It was a XP Power Tools.  I've read that you can also make it by editing the
Registry - anybody have instructions?

Vist and Ghost20 Feb 2007 02:55 GMT10
I mostly do my disk backups in case of a disk crash disaster so I can boot

using Ghost from my Norton SystemWorks 2006 installation.  But I can't
install SystemWorks in Vista.  Is there any other good ...

Latest Apple/PC commercial (off topic)20 Feb 2007 01:45 GMT17
Saw the latest Apple/PC commercial the other day and was LOL when
viewing it. (The one about UAC)
Apple sure got that one right.  UAC is one of the most intrusive
pieces of crap on Vista.

I am having problems installing office 2000 in Vista Home Basic.  The

End of Trial: No Uninstall?20 Feb 2007 01:24 GMT3
I tried the 30 day trial of Windows Vista (Ultimate if anyone cares).  I
have been running it in a dual boot configuration with my work-a-day Windows
XP installation.  I determined that at this point there is insufficient
third party support, so I decided to stay with Windows XP ...
LCD Display Fonts20 Feb 2007 01:19 GMT4
Yesterday, I bought a Samsung 906bw LCD monitor (19" Widescreen) from
Circuit City.  I played with lots of them there and at its native resolution
of 1440 x 900, the font size seemed so much larger than with XP.  All the
monitors at Circuit City were attached to computers running ...
