Call me an idiot but after a less than wonderful upgrade attempt with
Vista I decided to give this Ubuntu Linux a try.
Well it's 3 days later and I still can't make it work.

I just used windows vista update to install ( I think ) dreamscene
preview.  The system said it installed correctly and said I had to
reboot. So I did and I cant find it. even booted a 2nd time.  Nothing

We just bought a new computer that came with Vista pre-installed.  We
are now trying to migrate our old XP-based applications, data, etc. to

Experience index on my Control Panel\system window (3.6) but when I click on

Help.
I cleaned up some shortcuts and folders in Start Menu/All Programs.  I
saw something called Programs that I didn't see before (and it was
empty), so I deleted that, too.  I then emptied the Recycle Bin.

All the people who incorrectly thought vista was faster...
as they install programs, codecs and bog down their machines now..
they will see that it is really in fact slower than XP with the same amount
of apps installed.
