Does anyone know why when I click 'enable write caching on disk' in device
manager/disk drive/policies that it wont stay ticked on a vista machine?
Its got an SATA disk fitted if that has any bearing. Maybe with SATA disks
you cannot select disk caching could that be it?

i have read there's a virutal thing in vista if you have a virtual

I recently installed the latest version of Nero on my Vista Ultimate PC.
The software works fine and I noticed a new plug-in in Media Center when I
tried to burn a TV recording to DVD - a Nero plug-in. I tried to use this
plug-in and it recorded the TV program onto DVD OK - but ...

I tried it... gave it a go.. at first things seemed to work ok...
after I installed a few hefty VISTA COMPATIBLE applications... the crawling
commenced...
All drivers were also from vista itself.. I added no extra ones.. only those

My XP  PC came with a partitioned hard drive, with the operating system on
one partition. This would have been useful if I needed to reinstall the OS.
However, maybe I was lucky but never had the need to reinstall.

My computer will not go into sleep after the set amount of time i've set it
to. the screen turns off but that is all. Also, when i close my laptop the
screen stays on. i would really prefer that the screen turned off as to not
burn the monitor or anything. Any suggestions?

They're not listed in Control Panel / Add/remove programs. Norton WMI Update
*IS* listed but refuses to go away claiming some other program that uses WMI
Update is still installed on the system.
