OK, so I just got my first taste of Vista (Ultimate).  I was called upon by
an acquaintance to come and help them with their new HP DV9000 laptop (nice
box) loaded with Vista Ultimate.   I really disliked what I found in Vista.
Perhaps you may ask why?

I have my system downloading a rather large file and it would take
several hours to download.  I left thinking the computer would
download until it is done.  I came back and it had gone into SLEEP
mode.  I do have it set to go to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity

If I decline the EULA on a new laptop (in favour of an alternative OS)
can I use the the licence on other hardware I own?

I have seen several reports about how Vista allows the built-in
Firewall to be configured to control outgoing connections.
Is that something limited to Ultimate, because I can't find any access
to it or reference about it in my Home Premium???.

Well every time it open it configures.  No problem that it takes 5 mins
every time you wish to use it.
In keeping with the general MS product quality this is quite possibly the
most useless and irritating software I have ever seen.

In my new computer I have a SATA harddisc that runs Windows Vista Business
Edition. This works fine. Now I have put my  IDE harddisc from my old
computer (that runs WinXP) into my new computer, and within Vista I have
added this harddisc as a dual boot.

I am using Vista on a new laptop and I am the only user and logged in as
administrator.  I want to open the folder Documents and Settings but when I
try I get a dialogue box "Access Denied".
How can I gain access?

I have movie for vista, and it keeps cutting out alot, i have to be very
