Newsreader21 Apr 2007 02:13 GMT18
I have been using Forte Agent for several years and the newer versions
seem to be getting a little complicated to use. I will be going to
Vista before long and thought maybe it would be a good time to try a
new news reader. Maybe a few people in here could recommend some to

Movie Download Services in Windows Vista21 Apr 2007 00:42 GMT1
I have tried to use two movie services under Windows Vista without success.
Both worked successfully under Windows XP on the same equipment (except for
upgraded graphics card and extra 1 GB of memory).
Amazon Unbox has a software installation issue which pops up as an MSI
Access to this site in Firefox21 Apr 2007 00:25 GMT3
FYI  there's no indication on this site that if you try to access it from
Firefox that half of the functions won't work.
For instance, I spent ages hunting around this site trying to work out how
to post a message only to find that the only way to do so is to open the site

I have a CD-R which seems to just read and read in Vista - it doesn't
seem to fully load, and therefore cannot be read.
The other day, I was in a library and put the CD-R in the drive of one
of their pc's. It read perfectly. I was a little surprised bceause the
Encryption Smart Card Trouble20 Apr 2007 23:56 GMT5
My Vista Ultimate machine thinks I'm supposed to be using a Smart card to
encrypt files using EFS as it's prompting me for a Smart Card Pin.  But I've
NEVER used a smart card.  How can I get Vista to realize this?

I use a DOS program that I wrote years ago by using this 2 line .BAT file
on my XP Pro laptop.  When my program writes to LPT1: I get a small window
that asks me to enter a file name to write to.

Vista 64:  Athlon? Opteron?20 Apr 2007 23:22 GMT24
I realize this is more of a hardware question, but since I'm familiar with
"the work" of many respondents on these two groups, I thought I'd tap into
the wisdom of these crowds.
I'm using Vista Ultimate 64 on a socket 939 board. I'm thinking of upgrading
Quickbooks compatibility with Vista20 Apr 2007 23:07 GMT17
Can anyone tell me what I can do to make my Windows Vista Home Premium run
Quickbooks?  I am always getting an error message and then it closes down.
It is driving me crazy cause when it closes down it won't save my entries.
Can't get the Vodafone Web Page20 Apr 2007 23:07 GMT11
Trying to get to www.vodafone.net - it says the page is not available.
However my XP box on the desk next to it running IE7 gets on no problem so I
presume it is a Vista problem.
Any suggestions?
Increasing Vista speed?20 Apr 2007 22:41 GMT13
I asked in an earlier post how I can increase the speed of Vista, I
definietly found a little loss in speed going from XP Pro to Vista Premium,
not enough to ever think of going back to XP. I am running a P4 3 with 1gb
memory, I thought maybe not enough ram was the problem ...
