I started a drag and drop of just over 200gb of movies from a 250gb PATA in
an external firewire box to a new 500gb SATA running at 3ghz.
Estimated duration of transfer was 2 hours, 20 minutes and that seems to be
fairly accurate.

I am a little bewildered at the moment reagarding Vista's parental controls,
and am curious how other people have handled this.
I set up PC on my girlfriend's computer last weekend, to keep her

I have a .NET solution which uses the .NET Application Updater feature.
This runs fine on XP operating systems but whenever I attempt to run the
program under Vista I receive the following error box:

you think they will include the classic dialogue box logon as a update?
because i really miss it as i am running Vista Home Premium and am not too
used to the Welcome Screen

Can anyone tell me if this progamme is now compatible with Vista Business.
It wont let me run it after install asking for admin permissions.
Or...any virtual drive client that is compatible.

Suddenly lost [ctrl] and [shift] key functionality in Explorer20 Apr 2007 20:26 GMT9
Yesterday I suddenly lost the ability to select more than one file in Windows
Explorer and "This computer" using the [ctrl]- and [shift]-key. Also the
option "Select all" in the Edit menu is disabled.
If I use an "open file dialog" (from Word og elsewhere) I have no problem

I am based in the UK, and I see that most of the laptops on sale in the
retail market are still at best Windows XP Professional version, if not
Windows XP Home Edition.
Can I ask, for a non-commercial, retail laptop

Ok it was downloaded as part of the windows update, and there is a disabled
screen context menu item.  So what gives????

It seems that I can't search for text in .PST or .PDF files.  Is there any
way to enable this search capability in Vista?

Some sites (for example www.bbc.co.uk/drwho) only have video clips in the
form of Real Media files. Is there a way to play these files via Windows
Media player. I do not want to install the Real Media player and I do not
want to install The Real Alternative Player

I got home today, and I always leave my computer on.  For some reason,
it had turned off by itself. I dont know whether this had anything to
do with vista. What do you think happened?  My monitor was still on,
just the pc was off. I've been running vista now for 3 months and I've

Install of QB2007 went without a hitch.  Even ran "repair" with no hitches.  
QB Pro2007 won't start. Any sugestions?
