Last night I installed a tune-up program.  I did 2 things - one was supposed

Lately a lot of my installs started trying to install MS C++
redistributable but to do so it needs to uninstall the old version.
However it can not "find the source" and keeps asking me to insert

I am trying to develop a webpage incoporating ASP, and I was wondering if
there is an equivalent to IIS (used in XP) that is for Vista, which I'm

I've just recently installed few new (optional) updates on my laptop
yesterday and havnt noticed until today that my volume control is isnt
working. I have absolutely no sound! When I put the cursor over the volume
icon on my taskbar it says "No drivers are installed for this ...

Under the taskbar there's a white line and I don't know how to fix it.

How do i change the File Name Description in Windows Explorer and Save/Open
dialog boxes?
For example, *.doc documents have a File Name Description of "Microsoft

every time i click on an item on the desktop in a folder or in some programs
my computer makes the eror beep sound (like when u hold keys on startup) it
just started doing it all of a sudden is there a way to fix this because

I have xp pro on my primary SATA drive. I installed Vista on secondary SATA
while keeping primary (xp) SATA off in set-up to keep the two independent.
The reason I want the two separate is in-case one partition goes I don't
want the other to be effected as well.

I have upgraded to Vista.  When I place a shortcut to a web site from IE on
the desktop I do not get a specific web site icon as I did with XP.  Any
suggestions?

when I select help in windows vista I get an error message "Unable to open

   When ever I try and open an pdf attachment, it says there is not a
program associated with the file extension. Problem is that there is, in the
associations, .pdf files are associated to Adobe Acrobat, which is installed
and working well.
