I have a simple program which broadcasts a packet on 255.255.255.255 every second but although the packet sending function doesnt return any errors but the packet is not seen in the network. Is there any special setting for allowing the broadcasts?

hav used system restore, this fixed the problem. it has now come back and i cant restore to an old system restore point. I ran regedit in safe mode and changed shell setting back to explorer.exe it was explorer.exe svchost.exe. any ideas?????

hope someone can tell me how to stop this. everytime my laptop is turned on or comes out of hibernation windows media center comes on.gives me options to play videos etc but cant see any options to stop it coming up everytime.

I've bought the cable (belkin), installed the software on the XP box (sp2), downloaded and installed the companion and set the process running. Its been running for 3 hours (I think) but its hard to tell because there is no progress meter and I don't know where to look for ...

Have a Vista home edition. Office 2007 worked fine. Since downloading OpenOffice that came with Firefox update, Word and Excel no longer work, or only in Safe mode. Also Excel documents no longer recognized. Help! Thanks.
