Windows are no longer glass.  Have Vista home premium.
I went to appearence and selected areo as a color scheme, hit apply and a
dialog box popped up:  "the visual styles could not be applied"
Downloaded the divX codec as another thread recommended.

I have just moved from XP to Home Premium by way of a reformat and clean
install. I have a Gigabyte motherboard and a utility called Icool which
controls the speed of the processor fan. Under XP when the machine started up
the fan would run at full speed until Icool loaded as ...

My old XP got fried a couple weeks back, I bought a new desktop Vista. A
computer shop loaded most of my old XP (pic's,music,doc's) onto my ext. HD
and me,stupid, downloaded it to the new Vista. Now, when I open the computer,
next to a dozen programs are those little shortcut ...

How can I get my special Vista downloads folder icon back - it's just a
normal folder icon now?

I have just purchased this software but all is not going well.
Studio hangs briefly with a Not Responding at the top then it eventually

When I try to restore a previous point, I got this (approximate message,
since translated back from French to English, using my broken English; but I

I am not sure but I think I have serious install problems, vista running
with onecare live, keeps disconnecting my IDE DVD Rom and DVD ram drives,
and showing them as hidden or unplugged devices. Like wise, I am getting
crashes all over the place and BSOD's yet vista recons that ...

When I resume using the computer after having been away for some reason the
page sizes have all shrunk by about a quarter.  Never did this to start with
and for the life of me I have no clue how or why it's happening.  It's
really irritating though and I would love to stop it.  ...

Hi, after installing vista and Bitspirit (torrent client) my system
restarts form time to time (but before this i have the blue screen)

In Aefo, when you have a few programs running, as you scroll through I was
able to freeze the programs on the screen.  This function ai cnat get to work
again .  any suggestions?

After downloading and installing this update, I found that my menus
were behaving differently to normal. When you clicked on a menu or
sub-menu option in any program, the menus would cascade out to the
left, instead of to the left as they had previously done.

I am running Vista Home Basic and ctl+alt+del to access Task Manager. It runs

If I use the sleep button to make the PC sleep it works fine.
What is the difference between auto sleep and sleep via a button on the PC?
