Strange problem - Random floppy disk accesses21 May 2008 17:47 GMT2
I have a strange problem on my Vista Ultimate edition installation. Every
now and again I have a session where there is continuous random accesses to
the floppy disk drive. There are no dialogue boxes open so I have no idea
whats causing it.

I deleted the Recycle Bin by mistake - and then emptied the Recycle Bin, loosing my icon.I did find another one by going the Explorer. But for some reason or other it always shows that it is full (or something is in there) So I went to Properties and changed the icon. ...

I have exchanged Quicken bu data between two computers running xp.  I now
have 1 computer running xp and 1 running vista.  I am afraid of transfering
data to the vista machine and using it because of the possibility of not
being able to transfer the vista data back to the xp ...

I am having a few issues with my vista machine.
1.  WMI is not functioning properly.  I saw some postings about permissions;
in particular people were putting their network service account in the
administrators group.  I don't care for that solution.  I deleted the

The Vista sp1 update is not available for me via windows update.
So I installed the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista
(also referred to as KB947821) The installation took about 15 minutes
but said install was ok. I looked at the "view update history" in windows
