Bought a brand new laptop 2 days ago, wife took it to work copied files
to the desktop, got home drug some more files from the external drive
to the folder on the desktop, then this morning on the first restart
all the files are gone.

I am new to Vista x64, I love it and have no problems except for 1
thing, I cant sync my Treo with Vista x64. I installed the software no
problem, but I cant sync it.  Can anyone help please

when i tried to create a restore point an error message is being
displayed. it says
" could not create the scheduled task for the following reason task

I have Home basic.MY dvd drive is dvd recordable,on Amilo Li1705.
Fujitsu-Siemens were not helpful and neither were Nero.
The problem is I can no longer burn cd/dvd - data,music,video,image,anything.
I do not know what the problem is, so i start with this basic:

I went to see when the last time my complete PC image was made, on boot
up I entered F8 and went to repair PC and went to complete PC backup.
There was none made. So I rebooted and went to backup and restore center
to make one. There is no backup button. Is this because I have home

From what I gather, sp2 fails to install due to GRUB being my boot manager.
If anyone has found a work around...besides ditching Vista...please share

I have 3 VB machines running IE8.  All worked fine until today, where
nobody can open the IE8 app.  The one XP machine in the office is
working fine on IE8, and the Windows SBS 2008 machine we have is
