Out of sheer stupidity and over-excitement upon installing my new
Vista Ultimate back in June last year, when I starting installing the
widows Updates, I chose several non-essential updates ... most of which
were language packs.  I now have Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian,

I have been researching a way to check the version of a file thru a
batch file; i found the filever.exe utility, but then discovered it is
not compatable with Vista.

I have an Acer laptop that came with factory-installed Vista Home
Premium.  I've had it two years and I am the only user.  
Today it crashed and when I restarted it, it asked me for my password
at the user selection screen.  I had it set up to just select the user,

Between the \Windows\winsxs and \SoftwareDistribution\Download folders there
are 20 unique versions of iexplore.exe stored on my computer. They run from
version numbers 6.0.6000.16386 up to 8.0.60001.18702, with each one
consuming a bit over 600K of space.

I've tried several things like updating the Nvidia drivers and still it
don't put them in power saving mode.
I don't know what else to do as it's frustrating to come down in the morning

Any help in improving the sound quality of my machine would be very much
appreciated. It is particularly poor (broken up) on such sites as
YouTube although it wouldn't win any prizes either when playing CDs or

No hw connected other than a recent HP printer, which is switched off when

Not really sure how this happened, but I think that drag/drop a file
onto my admin acct's desktop-thought I was making a shortcut, and now I
can't delete it.  When I try deleting I get :
If you delete this file, it will no longer be shared.

I have a Vista computer that always boots into the recovery options and trys
to repair the operating system. How can I stop this from happening?
Even after repairing it does not try to boot normally!
Safe mode does the same thing.
