I have a LAN with 1 server, two client computers, and 2 laptops.  All
machines are running WinXPHome except for the server which is running XP Pro.
My mother's computer is directly connected to a hi-speed cable modem,

I've 1 ADSL modem (zyxel 650ME) wich is connected to internet.
This ADSL modem is also a DHCP server and may serve up to 4 addresses.
It's default IP configuration is 192.168.1.1
It uses PPOe mode.

Here the brief description of the problem:
Most of the time clients can successfuly obtain an address via dhcp.
But time to time a client fails to get an address from dhcp and starts
with something like 169........

I added a router to my cable modem and set up a wireless network for my
desktop and laptop computers. The laptop seems to be working fine, but
the desktop is problematic. i set up the network using Belkin's
instructions rather than Windows.

I have a wireless linksys router and notebook adapter on windows xp. I get
everything to work great, (static IP, DNS,Gateway etc.) when I reboot, all my

If I have a USB wireless adapter, can I plug it into my PS2 and play online
with it? I have a wired adapter that works, but wireless would be so much
more convenient. Probably not because it has to install drivers right? Just

Lately I'm noticing that my network speed seems to drop from 54mbps to 36-24

Both my wife and I use wireless at home - Linksys Router.  It appears as
though a neighbour has a SMC network setup.
It seems whenever the neighbour's signal becomes active, we get kicked off
