Laptop with Win XP sp2 and Linksys wpc54g - wap54g connected to befsr41. Signalstrength fine and time of connection is counting up just fine. Works for hours. But - every 20-30 min there´s no connection to the Internet - but still signalstrength and connection is listed to be ok.

Running Win98 on desktop hard wired to router; running Win XP HE on laptop connected to router wirelessly. When I set up a file on the desktop to be shared, I get to set a password. When I set up a file on the laptop to be shared, I don't get to set a password.

It looks to me like Windows XP Pro will only allow one to configure one IP address (including "automatic" as a choice, of course) for a wireless connection. Is there a way around that, to specify more than one IP configuration, for different connections? If not, is there a 3rd party

I had just emailed the same problem and then saw this solution -- it does seem to work, tho would be nice if a more permanent solution were found. Why is this only a problem on the new unit?
