Greetings.  I have one computer, cable internet, and Linksys 802.11b router.
Would an 802.11g  router increase my internet speed and performance?  My
understanding was that it benefits between computer communication on the
network, but it wouldn't change much in terms of internet ...

I've had a simple home wireless network running successfully for some time,
just 2 PCs - 1 desktop and 1 laptop, with a printer connected to the desktop.
Now for some reason (probably only known to Bill Gates!) although both
computers still say they are connected to the network, ...

Why is it that I perceive that NewsGroup data transfer to my wireless laptop
is slower than it (still) is to my desktop?
Router is a  LinkSys 'G' level.
Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 9300.

I have 6 PC's hooked up to a hub, which is hooked up to a cable modem.  I've
had Internet Gateway disabled on all the PC's as they access the Internet
thru the hub/modem.  I've used the Network Wizard on all of them to identify

network.  In general, does the NAS device just plug into the Ethernet port

I have 2 laptops connected to my wireless router,but one of them seems to
upload much more than it downloads,than the other laptop.But both seem
upload a significant amount more.

I just upgraded from a Netgear 54Mbps PC Card to a Netgeat 108MBps Card
(WG511T).  No problems with the 54Mb one but since the upgrade everytime I
restart my computer I get the New Found Hardware Wizard trying to install
PCMCIA.
