I know this forum has a lot of smart individuals so I am posting my wireless issue here. Please give me any inputs or ideas you may have. I am setting up a simple home wireless. Cable modem, D-Link DI-524 router, a laptop with XP Home/SP2 and D-Link DWL-G630 cardbus adapter.

I am using intel proset to configure my laptop's wlan card. As long as I am connecting TO an network, this works fine - I set dhcp and the laptop will connect to any network and it works. ipconfig will show me all the details correctly.

Was wandering around Center City the other day and my Palm TX picked up an access point named WiFiPhilly. Sounds like it might be part of the city's effort to scatter wireless access points throughout the city.
