Common problem: When I start my computer, I always have to go in and turn on Wireless Zero even though its set to automatically come on. Then I have to go and select the option that I want windows to configure my wireless network settings.

Is there a way to allow a save of a roaming profile when a wirelessly connected users initiates a shutdown? Can the shutdown procedure be stalled in order to intiate the roaming profile save? I think I also saw some comments that different wireless adapters can facilitate this... ...

I have an local IT policy in my company, that users cannot belong to the local administrators group on their PC's. That is fine while the user is at the office, But if the users travels and and needs to setup a wireless connection to another network(Hotel Room, Home Office, etc. ...

OE6 has been working perfectly until I connected my Belkin Wireless G Plus Router. Now I start OE6 and download news messages. A few minutes later I get a pop up message which says The tcp connection was unexpectedly disconnected from the server

Before I get into this arena with the purchase of a new wireless-capable notebook, one very basic question: is wireless and wi-fi the same thing? I notice some notebook descriptives saying, "connect to wi-fi hotspots anywhere!" While ohers say, "connect wirelessly anywhere!" ?

Is there some kind of utility that will allow me to look up an IP address.. for example: 72.89.196.14 1...and determine something about where it came from? Page stats on my website give me an IP address, and I'd like to get a little better idea where the visitor came from.

This post is to relate an experience that may prove useful to someone else. I have (had) a desktop w/XP-Home. Also a laptop with XP-MCE In a wireless mode, XP-Hm could "see" the XP-MCE; however, I was never able to make the XP-MCE "see" the XP-Hm.

I can't get XP to Auto Connect to my Wireless Router/Modem either at Start-Up or when starting either Explorer or MSN. At the moment, at start up, the Start Up bar icon indicates the computer connecting with the modem for a split second before indicating no connection.

I have a 2wire gateway installed with AT&T Yahoo DSL Service. Everything is good when using a Ethernet cable. When I switch to wireless, the system tray shows that the connection is built. But I can't use IE or Firefox to browse any web sites. My MSN Messenger
