Hello. I just set up my first home network using a notebook with Vista Home and wireless, a desktop with XP SP2 and a wireless card, and an Actiontec DSL modem (not a wireless router). The internet runs fine on each computer via hardwire to the modem.

I connect my wireless-enabled laptop to the Net using a wireless router. The router has four LAN ports and one WAN, plus WLAN. Can I also wirelessly link the laptop to peripherals such as printer, scanner, etc? (The peripherals have only USB ports, not ethernet.)

Everytime I go to print . It will not open. How do you correct a print spool service is not running. How do I get the service running? I recently installed Microsoft LIve one care and thats what started the mess. poodlegirl

I have switched from a broadband service to a cable service but now it seems that my linksys router keeps disconnecting. I've unchecked the IEEE box, but it still disconnects. Any solutions?

I was unable to change any setting in a preferred network site. I was also unable to remove it. Every time I try to modidy or remove that site, I got when I press okay to accept change: At least one of your changes was not applied successfully to the wireless

Have got a bit further with the "Netwqork Cable Unplugged" conundrum. Seems it's something to do with the NIC. After a trawl on the net I found that if I set it manually (ie off "auto") to 10mbps/duplex it works fine, but it keeps dropping out at 100mbps/duplex.
