Tomorrow I'll be staying in a hotel that provides wireless connectivity. What precautions should I take to prevent any possible intrusion into my laptop ? Also, should I disable my WEP key, the one I use at home to connect to the router ? If so, how ?

What would you guys recommend for a wireless access bridge that could go as far as a block down the street. Line of sight is possible, but main office and secondary office are separated by a house that faces sideways, therefore creating half a block or so of distance.
