Do we need to update Windows XP SP2 with the WPA2 update if we are
using the wireless adapter's manufacturer's own configuration
management tools?

I have a weird problem.  I have set up a second account on my Dell Desktop
for a family member to use on a visit.  It is set up as an administrator.
When I log on under this second account, it automatically wirelessly connects
to the internet via my Linksys router (and Comcast ...

ICS or Bridging ?07 Jul 2008 15:38 GMT1
This spring I shared a broadband connection from a laptop in Mexico by
using ICS from the PCI broadband card to the ethernet port. I then
used a router as an A/P only. The laptop is underpowered and
performance was lousy.
Router power consumption07 Jul 2008 15:29 GMT5
Is the signal strength of a router depends on the router's power consumption?
To compare a router that uses 3.3V and one that uses 12V.  Does this mean
that the 12V one can give stronger signal and support more wireless clients?
Tks.

To attempt to solve my wireless networking connection problems, I enabled the
following trace logs through the CMD prompt:
Wzctrace.log, Eapol.log, Wzcdlg.log, Netman.log, and Netshell.log.
I caputered the information while the wireless was playing up and sent the
Two nearly identical machines - 1 connects fine, 1 doesn't - HELP :-)07 Jul 2008 13:57 GMT1
I have two MS-home boxes with the same wireless card in each.  One's
older than the other and used to connect fine until about the time I
put the new one on (not certain there's a connection there, maybe just
other circumstances).  The newest one quickly connects with everything
Dial-up: How to stop it07 Jul 2008 12:12 GMT9
I have only recently been using wireless.
I do still have a dial-up account, but it is really just for backup.
Problem is, the dialer keeps starting, When my wireless connection
gets a little weak, the dialer pops up and takes over the connection.
Wireless just stops working06 Jul 2008 21:34 GMT4
So, we've had our Linksys WRT54G router for a couple of years. A
couple of weeks ago the wireless network just stopped working. This
was true for all of our wireless laptops; the router simply isn't
found when searching. Wired connections still work fine though.
SSID not showing up on 1 XP machine05 Jul 2008 21:19 GMT6
Have a strange problem.  I have 4 wireless machines at my home.  2 Vista and

3 machines.  One XP machine will not show my network whatever I do.   Weird
thing is I can manually put all the info on the ...

I have VIRGIN wireless broadband with a Huwai e220 modem. It is connected to
my Windows Vista Ultimate desktop PC via USB. I also have a small network

Browser Elections Breaking Wireless Connectivity03 Jul 2008 20:20 GMT7
Ok, let me start by saying I've done all the normal things.  I've changed the
channel, I've used Netstumbler (I'm the only network which isn't suprising
considering my nearest neighbor is a church - which by the way is empty most
days, so I doubt they are the problem), I've tried ...
-> Using Ethernet AND WiFi at the same time? <-03 Jul 2008 20:07 GMT8
I'd like to know if there is a way to tell some application to use the
WiFi TCP/IP instead of the Ethernet one.
My PC has both cards and I'd like to have most software use the
default Ethernet TCP/IP connections, but for example, tell Outlook and
