I am trying to run a server in windows XP with no luck. I
used to run one in ME without any problems. Since I have
switched to XP I can not access the server from outside my
home. From home computer I can access no problem, but if i

yesterday installed regular update from microsoft
following a download, sometime after  the screen froze (a
common occurence unfortunately), however this time
attempts to reboot are failing.

The task bar does not display some icons such as "microsoft updates". I have
used the "notification window" to set appropriate icons to display with no
results.Only the time, anti virus, and mouse icons appear. Suggestions,
please...and thanks.

when i try to open a program i get the following message:

My son just did a system restore and for some reason it
got hung up.  Then after awhile it said it did not have a
file to boot from.  Now it won't recognize the C: drive at

I awoke this morning to find that my computer was running

Message indicates no permission to access a workstation on
the network. It asks for a password which never happened
before. Any suggestions on how to fix?

I downloaded a program called hotbar (adds smileys etc.. to your E-Mail).
Since then,  Windows XP seems to have a problem. Outlook express has to be
closed every time I send one mail. If Hotbar is the problem, how do I
uninstall it?

My son has forgot his password and cant remember it even
with the password hint.  I have tried to log on into safe
mode and by pass the password enable, but every time I
log on even in safe mode the administrater wont let me
