cant get outlook express 6 to open without typing password21 Sep 2003 18:50 GMT1
I just bought a computer with windows XP and I set up
outlook express to open my email.  Everytime I go to open
it up it askes for my password.  I want to be able to
open it without typing my password everytime.  I have

I received this notification today via email (Outlook Express). I did not
realize that Microsoft sent out patches through the email system. When I
installed the patch, I kept getting a dialogue box (imap) that wanted me to
input my name , email address, password, server name, ...

After downloading the Windows Service Pack 1a, I can no
longer log on to my computer. Once I turn the computer on,
Windows XP boots up, but no Welcome screen appears after a
while of waiting. All it does next is reboot itself, over

Is this patch a "true patch " from microsoft or is it a virus. Just want to
be sure before installing it.

I logged out of Windows XP, and it turns out I DON'T know
my password, so I can't get back in!
Any ideas on how to rest password? I stayed on hold with
M/S support people for 2 hours last night.

 Was just writing to ask if anyone has ever had this
problem, and if so, what I might do about it.  I have an
HP system, 1.1 GHz, 128 MB, 40 GB Hard drive, running
Windows XP.  The other day, I decided to run a Clean-Sweep

When looking back through my Windows Update History, I have noticed that
there are several updates that say "Failed". The rest say "Completed".
Is there a way I can retrieve these updates and try download them again?
I have tried scan for updates, but they do not come up.

I have windows XP. When I start my computer it freezes up
