Can i install DOT NET in windows XP home edition OS?

Hello I hope you could help me. Lately when i go to shut
down my computer (xp) it is real slow, real slow. Do not
know why, it has just started doing this and also my
screensaver will just change to a blank blue screen.

I had my computer freeze so I turned it off without
shutting it down and now when I turn my computer on it
ask me to start in Safe mode, safe mode with networking,
last known something or other or normal and no matter

When reading in the Internet, i.e. CNN webpage, only 75%
of the screen is used and the text of the webpage is very
small, therefore it's very difficult to read the
articles.

When starting up my computer there are no startup sounds.  
Other sounds are working fine.  How do I get the startup
sounds to play?

A Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop with a manufacturer build
won't boot - won't start because the ntoskrnl.exe file is
either missing or corrupted.  This laptop has been working
fine for the last 2 years.

If I run Hotmail on my new computer with XP, it won't
take me to my messages if Hotmail is accessed from
Explorer.  I can get there from Netscape 7.1 or from any
computer running any other version of Windows.  Fix?

I was reading a few of the messages to see if there is one
similar to mine.  There are a few and they have to do with
a power surge, reboot laptop, and not the expected
response. Can't start in safe mode or safe w/prompt or

Have installed a second identity. Can switch from main identity to the
second identity but not vice versa.  All updates installed.  What haver I
done?

How does one delete messages ???

I'm running a system security check online, and all my
ports are stealthed, except my ICMP Ping port is open.  
It says since my computer will respond to pings, I will
attract attention from hackers.  How can I stealth this

Is there a way to make the task bar icons larger the way
you can on the desk top?

Hey there, just today I logged on to my computer and it
told me that I had 11 days to change my password. I want
to disable this limit on the length of time I can have a
certain password, as I only have the password to use

The Admin login icon missing. The other users icons are
there.  Other users can login, but the admin section is
not there.  Can anyone help.  Thanks!
