I am running Windows XP on my home computer and I have had
the computer for about 3 months. all of the sudden
yesterday the computer powered itself on. I shut it off
and it has powered itself back on a few times since then.

when i try to run msconfig,regedit, or even jsut pressing
ctrl-alt delete all that happens is it pops up for a
second buyt then when i try to click something it goes
away. i have tried reinstaling windows but it hasnt helped.

I followed MS directions to disable the ICF firewall that
works to protect programs from use by others on the
internet but when I went there to disable it it showed it
was never on yet I can't access my programs without right

On Task Manager I often find NewsUpd.
What does this mean please?

When accessing the internet I receive this message.
Win32 RPC computer will now shut down.
When trying to do windows updates this message appeared
and totally crashed my system. I am presently restoring

Deleted msblast.exe due to W32lovsan.worm.a virus.  How
do I retrieve a clean copy of msblast.exe

I recently uninstalled Windows XP, and was converted back
to Win98.  I now am trying to re-install WinXP and I am un
able to do the install.  Every time I try I get a pop up
message wich states:

my friends computer is not letting her in and we want to
access her computer from mine so we can check and see
what is wrong and if it just got over loaded and if so
dump programs that she does not need so she can get into

I loaded some new software, and now my XP is FUBAR.
When XP loads, it says "RPC Service Terminated, NT
AUTHORITY is shutting down the machine"
I tried to run RESTORE from a CMD prompt but it seems that

I am having problems sending out e-mail and recieving.
It says that there is an error with my server. I went to
tools and then accounts but I so not know what server to

When I right click the start button nothing happens and
you cant clik  start run. Give sa error

I turned on Windows Update last nigh on my HP laptop and
downloaded updates. This morning Windows would not open.
Tried to restore last known good configuration. Still does
not open. Any suggestions?
