sudden blackouts with XP21 Dec 2003 06:23 GMT5
I have been getting sudden blackouts with no error message. Screen suddenly
goes blank. I then reboot. Can't figure out any pattern. Anyone else have
this problem?

I have a dual boot system, Windows 98SE and Windows XP
home edition with Service Pack 1. The computer is a
Pentium 3 with 256 K of ram.

For the past serveral days after my PC has been on for a
while the display starts haveing static-like distortions
going down the screen and the mouse locks. Then the
Stickykeys dialogue box comes up.  Occassionally I can

I tried to open "folder options" under Control Panel in
Windows XP, however, I'm unable to. Instead of a flash
window coming up for a second and then gone. Do you know

When I open a program or just a folder I don't see a window on the taskbar.
when minimized it disappear and can be found by Alt Tab.
when I log off to another user' it's o.k.

ok i am having problems with being able to view profiles
and hitting ctrl+alt+delet to close programs,if i hit the
x to close it won't,what is missing,when ads pop up i

This is a new problem for me that never seen before.

my laptop is currently configured to logon automatically,
without a password, but I'd like to set it up so that I
DO need a password to log on with Windows. Can I do this?
