Within the last few days, my machine wouldn't log me on
(as user001...i never changed it). It told me that my
user001 may be corrupt and it was giving me a temporary
ID and I was working, but all settings were forgotten

i just recently purchased a new CD DVD rom drive that burns DVD+RW/+R and i installed it.  It worked really good for a while and when i ran my burning software it started saying that it couldent find a burner.  I thought it was just the software but the other day I went to run ...

I have windows xp home edition and cannot open .pps files
Can I download powerpoint and what version would I need?  
Do I have to pay for this software and will it take a lot
of my memory?  I have a pentium 4....

I can't alter the CREATOR OWNER permissions on the c:
drive.  I'm logged on as Administrator and all the
permissions for CREATOR OWNER are blank.  I hit full
control and apply but all permission boxes go blank.

Hi...I am unable to start my son's computer...when window
loads I get a blue screen which doesnt stay very
long...but I was able to make out the following "the
registry cannot load the hive (files)"

i keep gettin the message:
your system administrator disabled the display control
panel
this happens everytime i try to access the display

When I try to access a program that worked perfectly fine yesterday, I am now getting  the following message
Access violation at address 0063694B in module 'Embird.exe'. Read of address 00000040.
Is there some way to correct this access violation?  It is a program I use everyday ...

I have a problem accessing the Disk Management tool within Windows XP
(Home Edition).  When I run DISKMGMT.MSC I get a grey error box
labeled Logical Disk Manager that says:
"No such interface supported"
