WinXP machines to work using Remote Desktop.
Hopefully in laymans terms
Any help would be appreciated.

When installing software applications from a CD directly,
the system tells me that it can't read the source file.  
The only way I can load applications is by copying the
entire disk to the hard drive then run the installation

My system says I have hard drive errors.  I try to run chkdsk but it won't run, even after re-boot or shutdown.  Can't run it from a DOS box and use any of the switches.  This is a known XP problem (knowledge base #823439) But Microsoft shows no solution.  Is there a workaround ...

I have finally been able to load ACT 6.0 in safe mode, but
now it will not open; it won't even open in safe mode.

I was trying to transfer files between two XP machines on
my home network. I could search and find each computer but
could not log onto shared resources.

Agh! My bf restarted our computer because we were hit with
a virus. We have Norton Antivirus; but he decided to
