Some how all the programs became locked on my Compaq
desktop on Win XP. Error message reads "C:my documents
access is denied. system is locked." How can I unlocked
the programs so that I can access everything again?

Hi, recently I just realized something went wrong with my
windows applet. Whenever I try to open a file folder
under windows explorer, or even on the desktop, instead

Hi Everyon
I am having trouble with my Windows XP. Somehow all of my folders are marked with read on;y and I can not change that part of the folder. Can anyone help? Just unclicking the box and hitting apply is not working. My lone user on the machine is the computer adminstrator

When I attempt to compose an email in Hotmail(or yahoo or spymac ect...) the
compose page will never fully load. When I attempt to send the unloaded page
I get an error. I'm running XP home on a wireless network through a cable
modem. Hotmail works fine when run through Outlook ...

I have never had this problem.  I cannot open the disk
and I have most of my files saved on it.  How do I
extract the files?  Disk won't open on another computer.

have xp home user... system boots to login screen. after selecting a user it
says loading settings... 5-10 seconds later it says loggin off user and goes
back to previous screen. Impossible to go any further... ideas???

We all know that RegClean was originally written for
Windows 95 and that Microsoft no longer supports it. But,
will it work and is it safe to use on XP? I found it to be
a very handy utility on my ME machine but XP is not ME.

I have a read/write cd drive, but when I followed the instructions for
copying my documents and other files on my pc (win xp pro) the only drive
shown as available  was the A drive. Any advice. Thanks.

deleted something from my registry.
Before I did it I copied the registry to the desktop, but now it says it

PC Advisor this month  gave details of CD backup but I cannot see how I can
backup to a CD. My xp pro appears to allow me to backup to the A drive only,
how can I instruct it to backup to a CD? Many thanks for a prompt response.

BOORROWED A 98XP INSTALLATION DISC TO RE-INSTALL WINDOWS
98 ON MY COMPUTER.  BUT IT STILL WON'T START THE WINDOWS
