Hello, I returned to my desktop and it says computer locked down only an
administrator can unlock this computer and a password is required! I never
set one!

A new CD (OEM) Win XP is crashing at the end of installing. Tryed it on three
different harddisks (IDE + SATA) - same result. Got a new CD from the
supplier - same problem. After restarting of the PC at the end of the
installation process, I get the Win logo on black background ...

While trying to get to the bottom of a few problems with my computer, I
read that lsass.exe should be located at c:\windows\system32.However I
seem to have two versions of the file, the other being located at
c:\windows\system32\dllcache.They both have the same installation

For two months I beta tested this software, installed programs and was
satisfied about the purformance.

Microsoft got a fix yet?
It seems that countless people are having problems with system restore (like
myself) olso others have lost Clip art, and so on.

im having difficulties opening up windows task manager.., whenever i click
ctrl, alt, delete, instead of task manager showing up, a window appers
sayting windows task manager has been disabled by tour adminitrator. how do
change that , and enable this feature?

My m/c has 2 hard drives.  Both of them had Windows XP Pro installed.  On the
start-up screen I could indicate which hard drive I wished to access.  
However, following a somewhat botched attempt to install Linux in a separate

I had a friend help me reboot my laptop.. it crashed and lost everything...
he helped me load XP Pro and when we put in the product ID key it said not
compatiable, since we have found out the product key  for XP home, but we

After turning on my laptop SONY PCG-K23, it appears: "Windows could not start
because of the following file is missing or corrupt:

I have a laptop with a second monitor.  Because of a jacked up application
that I must use, I must have the separate monitor my primary (app won't work
otherwise).  Then when I undock my laptop and try to use it, I can never see
the alt-tab preview.

We have a computer that is connected to a network that requires
ctrl+alt+delete login. We think the network card may have gone bad but we
need to get into windows but it wont let us login with administrator or any
other profiles. Usually login is doable even without network ...
