I continually receive a notice for the above named update, but when I try to

After suffering the "blue screen of death", Windows XP pro did not "Repair"
the existing OS, rather re-installed itself (I chose a secondary directory).
After many problems, at least one which plagues me exists.

I am using Windows XP, Ver. 2002, SP2 (That's from My Computer Properties,

I have a folder containing 0 bytes that I cannot delete.  The folder is not
read-only or hidden.
When I try to delete the folder I get the following error message:- Cannot
delete file - cannot read from source file or disk.  I also get the same

My pc freezes at random times, most of the times it freezes while i'm
downloading a file. Is there a reason why it freezes? Is there a way to stop

I am having a problem with a clean install of Windows XP Media Center Edition
2005 SP2b.
I can load the XP OEM disk # 1 into my DVD ROM drive and everything starts

I had to crash my system due to aseveral viruses and when I tried to reload
XP, the VLK that was given to me is being blocked now so I can't get any
updates because it says I'm not genuine Microsoft.  Where do I start?

Is there any way I can copy a file to the control panel, say through Windows
Explorer?  If so, how do I do that?

My desktop showed the following after re-boot the PC :
- the icons in the menu bar at the bottom become big and not as usual
- the small clock at the right corner shown "Monday, 21:26 June 9, 2008" ;
before was only shown time "21:26"

Have setup wireless network with Compaq andesktop (as ?"server"?) and Toshiba
lap top and Linksys router. Have been running this system for at least 6
months no problems until today, 2/27/07, and rec'd Windows System Error above.
