I have been using a computer for 20+ years, and have never really heard an
answer to the question-- it is better to turn it off overnight, or when
you're not using it, or leave it on?

The Backup option does not appear under System Tools.  I do recall seeing it
there before, I think it may have disappeared after I downloaded the Service
Pack 2, but I can't be sure.  Can anyone help me to find it or re-install it?

Having recently told another poster to make sure he has his Product Key
handy when he formats and reinstalls, it dawned on me that I was never asked
for mine, nor am I being bothered about activation after having done just
that.

Every time I reboot the image previewer application takes a minimum of
75 seconds to load the (first) image when I attempt to open a graphic
for viewing.  Once I've viewed (any) image, subsequent images load
immediately.

I just, finally, got on the internet last night with my newly upgraded XP
machine, formerly WIN 2000.  Ever since I started do updates this morning, I
have been getting over and over the critical update 835732.  It gets
'successfully update' then comes right back.

i just bought a new dell laptop inspiron 8600 and am setting it up. i havent
yet connected to the internet but i dont think that has anything to do with

I have been trying to work with photos copied to a CD-RW.  Once the photos
were copied to the disc and I tried to edit and then saved them, I received a
message saying I was not able to save them to the disc.  Why?  I was under
the impression that by using a RW CD I could edit ...

I would like to make Windows XP stop popping up messages like the ones when
I plug a USB 2.0 device into a 1.1 port.  It pops up a message about HiSPEED
device being plugged in a low speed port.  Is it possible to stop XP from
reporting all this errors... I find it quite ...
