How long should I leave it before defragging my hard drive under XP Home SP2? I had thought that it should be done about once a month or so, but when I open the Disk Defragmenter program and run "analyse" it says that a defrag is not necessary.

I'm trying to delete some files that belong to the Oracle programs I downloaded, but he uninstaller did not get rid of it all and I'm getting errors that I do not have access to delete a particular file. How do I get rid of it?

I notice that original posts here are often removed, and I can only view it after scrolling thru the reply, sometimes several replys. It would be nice to read the original question or issue first, the read on to the responses. It it a setting issue on my side or what?

Had my first AC power failure while my new WindowsXP computer was up and running. When power came back on and I re-started I expected it to do some sort of a disk scan check like it did for Windows 95 and 98 but it just came up as if it had been shut down
