Occasionally, the mouse pointer either disappears, and comes back a minute
later, or it goes to the top left corner, and stays there. Buttons still
work on the computer. Ctl/Alt/Del  offers no help. Freezing in the upper
left has happened twice in the past few days-- no unusual ...

New to XP, so this might be basic.
I am in the process of going from 98se to xp but also upgrading my cpu.
If I do the upgrade after I install xp, will that cause a problem and
require me to re-register xp? XP is store bought, not OEM.

I downloaded and installed all available security updates (30MB+) last
night.  Since then my browser, IE6, appears to have slowed down ie:
searching takes longer and pages take longer to load.  Using XP Pro with
SP1.

Not sure what is going on. The past 3 or 4 days whenever I go onto any web
site the font is very large and makes the web page hard to read, not to
mention that what use to be on one page is now on 3 or 4 due to size.
This onyl happens when I go onto web pages.  All other fonts ...

If so, if I use Partition Magic to change my XP partition (E:)to NTFS,
will I be able to access the FAT32 partitions on my disk while running
XP?  I have two other partitions, one with data and programs (D:) and

I occasionally receive e-mails on OE with Word attachments I wish to save.
If I click on File | Save Attachments, they get sent to the default MyDoc.

found from years of teaching that it is quicker for the students not to use
the mouse at all, I train them on all of the relevant keyboard shortcuts/hot

I see things like Windows 2000 or XP for $50.   I would like to replace the
OS on a old Dell PII latitude company laptop I have with a fresh install
(there is nothing I need to keep).  Is that stuff for real or is there some
hidden gimmick there like wont let me use it after 30 ...
