I have a problem displaying the 'í' character in
any text editor under xp.
The keyboard and the regional settings are correct at English(Irish).
In order to get the acute accent on vowels I use the key combination of

when i create a shortcut from my desktop to a web page (ebay) it puts
the ebay icon on my desktop.  when i clean my system it disappears, how
can i stop this or is it stored on my pc.

Recently installed WinXP-Pro SP1 into 2GB.
Seems OK except for a flash of disc (HDD) activity roughly every second or
so. I've closed down just about evey unwanted program, yet the 'ticking'

I just installed a new harddrive and transferred all my personal documents
into it. When I start XP I get the message "Scheduled Agent - Cannot create
shell notification icon." When I click on OK the message dissapears and
everything seems to work as before.

Hello, I just installed XP Pro. I have 3 accounts, 2 with admin access
and my guest account. I have no passwords because I am the only user.
My question is...when I deleted a desktop icon from one user account,
why does it get deleted from the others? Are't the desktop settings

I needed my Win XP Home product key today and didn't want to dig
through the boxes to find it.  So I tried Keyfinder and Belarc and
AIDA32.  All of them reported the wrong key. The key that it reported

I have been having problems with my computer (in general).  Upon opening
the "Help and Support" window and selecting "personal assistant" the
program locks up directly or when I choose to allow an internet
connection for the help program.

I installed my old drive as a slave drive.  BIOS recognizes it, but when I
try to start up XP it freezes at the desktop.
The only way to get it to work is to take the old drive off the IDE
