I have a new XP machine, and am finding that some of my W98 applications on CD will not

On my Windows XP Pro machine, Windows Firewall settings, Internet Explorer
is listed as an exception on the Exceptions tab.  Along with Remote
Assistance and Remote Desktop.  Why would that be?

It looks like Windows XP Professional (off a domain) wants to synchronize
time only once per week.  Is there any way to make this synch more often,
like once per day?

An XP ballon warns that it can find no anti virus on the machine, and I am
in danger. There is in fact anti virus running. Is there a key in the
registry that got corrupted? How can I fix it to find the anti virus?

I'd like to runa a batch file automatically the first time a user logs onto
a machine. They will be logging onto a a domain at an XP Pro workstation as
a domain user. It assigns a network drive as well as several network
printers. Is there a straight forward to do this?

Is it safe to delete the entire contents of the Prefetch folder in XP Home. I
am trying to delete IEXPLORE.EXE-27122324.pf I believe it's a virus slowing
my computer down. I have searched and found 4 iexplore files they are.
