While trying to uninstall Antivirus software and install another updated
version some files have become corrupted. As soon as I open Windows (XP Home)

What can one do about a CD tray that ejects on its own.
When I turn the PC on, the tray pops out. It pops out at other times as
well. There is no particular pattern to this crazy behavior. Any suggestions?

A neighbor's laptop, running XP home, worked fine for the past 3 years.

Sometimes during a search a site will lock me into its page, disabling the

My computer will not reboot. I have to manually cut it off and back on. Don't

Can someone please tell me how to change the font in WordPad.  I
already know how to change it when I am creating something.  I'd like
to change it to Times New Roman as the startup font.  Right now when

I am trying to restore some files backed up to the C drive on another
machine via my LAN, but Restore says that the file contains unrecognised data
and cannot be used. Both machines are running XP SP2 and were when the files

Does anyone on this group know what should be done when the arrow is
frozen and
will not move? It isn`t that way most of the time, but it does get
stuck some. And does it harm a computer to turn it off with the power
