Cleaning Out Temp Files - How Far to Go?07 Aug 2006 00:58 GMT4
I'm running WXP Pro, SP2. I usually try to go into the ..../WINNT/Temp
folder every couple months to clean out the accumulation of .tmp files. I'm
not sure why I do this, other than somewhere along the line I was told it
was a good thing to do. I don't usually see any significant ...

I just bought Dune (the white label one) for the pc and am attempting

Freezeup06 Aug 2006 21:32 GMT1
If I leave my computer on without any activity, it will consistently
freezeup after about an hour. The screen goes blank, the number lock on the
keyboard does not respond, and Alt-Cntrl-Del will not work.  All I can do is
a reset. What can I do to prevent this?
Volume adjustment06 Aug 2006 20:47 GMT8
(I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question. )
I am unsure if there is a problem with my speakers themselves or a setting
within Windows XP.  The speakers model is Creative.  The volume doesn't
appear to be working as I expected.  By this I mean, I have to have to

Another drive has F, G, H and L.  (I & J are used for CD-ROM and CD-R/W).
K?  Indicated as a removable.  Cannot find or identify.

Outlook Express Alias's06 Aug 2006 18:09 GMT6

that it is coming
from the account I originally set up instead of my alias, which is muc
easier to remember.
Edit Display Properties "wallpaper" list06 Aug 2006 17:03 GMT9
When I open Display Properties / Desktop there's a window called Background,
in which there's a list of tons of .jpgs on my hard drive that I'd never use
as a wallpaper.
Is there some way to get those jpg's off this list?  I've created a folder
Management of Partitions06 Aug 2006 17:02 GMT8
I have a physical drive with three active partitions.  Via XP's Disk
Management, I see two other partitions that at one time were used in a Linux
environment.  The partitions do not have drive assignment, i.e. E, F, G for
instance.  They are noted as Healthy (Unknown Partition).  ...

Wish to DELETE stuff fm Documents and Settings folder06 Aug 2006 05:08 GMT8
Due to an unfortunate selection of partition size for 'C' when originally
configured - 9.75GB (apps, data and other are on D, E, etc.)
I continue to move, try to delete unnecessary folders.
Our machine has two accounts.  When XP was installed, a CRLF was executed
