Does anyone know how many times WinXP Pro can be reinstalled on the same
machine without having to call Microsoft?

Hi- This just started happening this evening.  If I'm using my browser & send
a shortcut for a site by hitting file, send to desktop when I hit the new
icon it takes me to my print!! set-up.  Why?

I just got a new laptop w/XP on it.  Grouping is turned on, yet my taskbar
still refuses to group my items.  I cant seem to find anything here for how
to fix this.  Any suggestions?

I have a user with 2 monitors and the resolution is set the way he wants it.
When he locks his computer or even when his screensaver locks it and he has
to unlock it, the resolution on his 2nd monitor has changed and he has to go
in and change it to the way he had previously set ...

im running win xp HE with SP2 all updates , 2 user accounts both with admin

Im running windows xp. Anyways i cannot open add/remove programs,
system, display, internet options, keyboard, mouse, and others from the
control panel. The only thing im able to open in control panel is

I have not been able to install SP2 since having computer problems so
continue to operate with SP1.  Now, support is soon no longer available for
SP1.  What problems will that create for me?  Am I able to continue

   My problem is that my cd writer won't write.  I insert a blank disk and

Usualy, in windows XP, all working program are shown in the taskbar. On my
PC, when I open any program, nothing shows in the taskbar at the botom. So,
when I minimise the program, I have to do a ctrk-alt-del to open up the
Windows Task Manager and "retreive" the program I was ...

A friend has suddenly inherited a dif shutdown screen. It looks different &
even has a choice to "lock windows" or "lock computer"...... (not sure
