"Very Low Memory" was an interesting thread for me. My problem is just the opposite. I have 1GB of memory and the lowest I've seen it in "Task Manager" has been 792MB Available. Running XP Pro and minimum programs (Money, Works, VuePro, VLC Media Player, Internet) .

Early this morning I set my laptop going on a 10 hour job that manipulates large video files. I have just checked it thinking it was about to finish and found a message, I presume from Microsoft, saying that an update had automatically restarted

Anyone know of a good program which will allow me to copy only certain segments of a DVD disc to my hard drive? Each segment would be about 1 to 2 minutes long. I'm using XP Pro on a fast computer. Thanks in advance.

We have a freeware backup program called COBIAN BACKUP. It has been great and has backed up fine until I got this new machine. Now it doesn't do its 1am backup. Could it be because XP goes back to the "log on screen" and isn't running? Do those things in the taskbar just quit?

Finally the system let me into general! Again I'm trying to get a streaming radio station and they say I need to upgrade. I have media player 10 and they say I need player 11 beta 2. If in fact I do this feat, will I be able to get 10 back if it dosen't work??????
