Why does XP, in one of my website login pages, not remember my account number
but instead fills in my password?  How can I correct this?

I want to confirm that what I have is *not* a
Windows XP problem.
All of a sudden, my computer, when I shut down to Restart XP,
closes down as if to Restart, starts up as if to Restart and

Ok I somehow screwed up big time. This is what happens to an old fart that
thinks he knows more than he does.
How I got here is not important, this is the problem:
Win XP Home with all updates issued untill last week.

Is there a way to disable the windows accelerator which will allow for it to
be enabled later ?

Ok. My IBM computers hard drive crashed. whoopy. we took it to  best
buy, got a new hard drive. yay.
So we come back home, ready to sit down for about 6 hours to install
Windows XP. We find an old Compaq cd and see if it works in an IBM. It

I have an external hard drive and I'd like to get another larger one and
copy the data from the smaller one to the larger one.  Is this possible and
if so how?  Using Windows xp home.

Sometimes I get an email with an attachment that it does not allow me to
open.  I keep getting the message:

Everytime I click on the start menu I get the "New programs have been
installed" and "There isn't room to show all programs..." messages.  Can I

I need a "Format Guide For Dummies".  I need to format my machine and
have tried with information off the web.  Started up with the disk in
but none of the instructions given from then on seem to work.  Please

I disabled the Server Service in Services (huh?), as I have a
stand-alone PC not connected to any network services (there's that word
again) and disabling it is supposed to give better security.  But now

i installed the internet and had this  cdrom  containing the installation kit
.i stopped the process  before it was through since it was taking so long  i
have not been able to re start windows since  .It has become s slow taking
like ten minutes  before i get the  sign in icon  ...

I have a situation where I need to install XP Home on an XP Pro computer.
How do I change the boot sequence to boot from a disk? I don't see how to
get into the BIOS.

Hi- I like to use Music match when I download 15 second wav files off the
net to hear speech (TTS) samples. But, ever since my kids used my pc to plug
in their Ipods, my wav files play.........but open up with Quicktime. I dont
like QT & want the wav files I download to ...

I use a standard QWERTY keyboard; it does the job right most all the time.
Occasionally, however, I need to add a cedilla, or either acute or grave
accents to various vowels, as one would on a french keyboard.  I also need a
way to add an umlaut for German, or a tilde for spanish ...

I am running Windows Server 2003 SP1 with Windows XP SP2 Clients.  When
a client across a VPN does a search for files on a server share there
are never any results.  If I search the same file share on the LAN I
get results.  If I search server to server across the VPN it works.
