After copying everything from an old computer [that admittedly already had
duplicate files on it], files from my office CPU and a bunch of photo CD’s
laying around, I know I have multiple copies of the same files throughout my
new computer.  

Please can someone advise me if it is possible to password- protect a folder
on my desktop in XP Home and if so, how?

My neighbor just bought a PC with XP Home operating system, which has
two User accounts.  He wants to eliminate user accounts and keep his home
PC with no login system. May be this keeps his control over his teen age
