same  size, type , two for  each account?? plus one more administrator

my laptop runs Windows XP SP2. Recently I got the
\windows\system32\config\system file damaged and the OS didn't starts.
I tried to restore it loading Windows 98 from a CD. I used the DOS shell to
copy an old system.bak file from the windows\repair folder to

I am trying to install SP2 update on a friends computer. The computer
seems to be going o.k. SP2 starts to install and then "ASN1 unexpected
end of data" appears and can't go any further.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have deleted omnipage se and now when i click on any pictures in
their folders windows intstaller tries to find it and does an annoying

When I have a window or dialog box open and I want to move it around by
clicking on the top blue bar and moving the mouse the frame of the window
moves first, then when I release the left button of the mouse the rest of

Following a not very smooth update to SP2 Home (see earlier
post) I'm now trying to resolve the resultant problems.
In the Event Log for Applications I am consistently seeing the

Hi.  Yesterday I downloaded IE 7.0 and installed it.  I noticed a lag of a
few seconds from when I clicked the icon to when the program actually
loaded.  I exited out and reloaded, once again there's a lag of 2-3 seconds.

i find some files on the system drive c:\ have 0 length called{ io and
another called msdos} i don't understand what that mean; I find also files
ntdetect and ntldr on the same drive. Q: is this files important? : can i
delete them?
