I installed Norton system work 2006 and everything seems to be working
but when I click on the norton antivirus system tray icon, it does not
open.  Also, I tried to double click from the shortcut that is in my
desktop but it didn't open,  I go into the programs and I try to open

hi, recently my application area of the taskbar is not showing any of
the programs i'm running of the internet explorer windows,, the quick
launch is present and the language bar also is there on the right side,
i tried removing the quick launch and the language bar but when i do so

What is the worst thing that could possibly happen to my laptop (a sony vaio)
if it is repeatedly turned off straight from the power button every time
rather than going to start, shut down, etc.?  Like if it just switched off
straight away at the power button without coming out ...

I can't get a digital media video download to play on my windows media
player. I downloaded a few plug ins but it still won't play. Ii does play on
Quicken.

A week or so ago I became unable to download my e-mail using Windows
Explorer 5 which was on my computer when I purchased it.  I gave an
error message but no number.  I contacted Cynergy (IPS) and they told
me to download Windows Explorer again.  I could only download Explorer

When XP shuts down , the desktop briefly is displayed as a greyscale image.
Is it possible to RUN Windows XP in greyscale on a colour TFT monitor?

Is there a way to shut off the pop up screen that asks what you want to do
when inserting any CD's, DVD's, or other removable data storage without
having to select "take no action" for each one that is inserted? If so, can
this be done without stopping the auto start when ...

Does anyone no how to turn back on the volume adjustment level bargraft that
use to appear at the bottom of the desktop whenever I adjusted the volume
with the voume toggle buttons at the top of the keyboard on my HP Pavilion
zd8230 with XP Media Center?  I can still adjust ...

I right click on an icon in the task bar and go to properties then depress
FIND TARGET button and nothing happens.

Eventually got around to updating XP Home from SP1 to SP2 using
a Microsoft CD (from a magazine). Closed all programs, inc
Zone Alarm and virus checker while running it.
All seemed to go ok until the final stage - "cleaning up", when

I am running XP home edition, sp2, all undates installed.  I have two
corrupt/unredable files:  one a 1.9k ".js" file and the other a 39k MP3 file.
"chkdsk /f" does not "see" either file but my spyware does and keeps
scheduling a chkdsk on boot.

I upgraded my Dell dimension 4300 from Win Me to XP ( better later than
never).
Some programs did not work and needed to be reinstalled. After reinstalling
