I cannot delete two .tmp files from my computer. Today's .tmp files are JETF1D2.tmp and JETF230.tmp and apparently they change names each day, but seem to always be JETFxxx.tmp. The size of the .tmp files are 0 KB.
 The string is C:\WINDOWS\Temp\JETF1D2.tmp etc.

installing a dvd writer14 Dec 2006 20:07 GMT9
My 3 and a 1/2 year old Windows XP system has been running with very few
problems since I had it. Today I decided that I wanted to put a DVD
writer in and it all seems trivial, remove old DVD ROM, plug in new DVD
writer after checking the master/slave pin thing and turn on the PC ...
Creating the same subfolder in many folders14 Dec 2006 19:36 GMT1
I'm trying to create a subfolder that will be in many folders.  Is
there an easy way to do this or am I stuck to creating each subfolder
individually within each folder?
An example of what I'm trying to do: have the folders "alpha", "beta",

Do these apps really exist?14 Dec 2006 17:11 GMT2
I am convinced that these Microsoft applications don't actually do anything.
These are exactly the kinds of names you'd come up with if you want something
non-existent to sound legitimate, just as sci-fi movies somethimes use
technical-sounding names for devices without actually ...

to press the windows button, then u and u again  -I memorized that :-)  to
restart.

My system has a partitioned hard drive (in fact 2 IDE drives mirroring in RAID

I have a number of data dvds which I have not closed so I could subsequently
write more information to them (ie I used Windows' option to use the ...
Convert FAT32 to NTFS14 Dec 2006 09:09 GMT18
An article in PC World suggests a relatively easy way to convert Windows XP
from FAT32 to NTFS:
See: < http://pcworld.com/article/id,127734-page,4-c,xp/article.html > which
states:
CD & DVD-RW Drives Not Working14 Dec 2006 07:17 GMT3
XP Pro stopped recognising my CD drive awhile back. Although annoying, I
assumed that the data cable was loose inside, & since I also have a DVD-RW
drive, I have put off wriggling away under the desk into the nest of cables
to sort it. However the same thing has now happened to ...

Welcome screen gone14 Dec 2006 03:59 GMT3
I'm told by a networking guru that an XP SP2 patch was
recently issued that denies further use of the welcome
screen if a network is added to the computer. One of my
computers recently visited update.microsoft.com and it now
