I have just replaced Windows Explorer 6.0 with version 7.0 and am having
difficulty with version 7 making a broadband internet connection after
turning on my computer. An error message keeps coming up saying a connection
can't be made, but other indicators show a connection is in ...

My combo DVD/CD drive will not start after
a shutdown .
I can get it to start by running "sfc /scannow".

has no "upper"  .. "lower" fillters listed .

My computer is running very slowly (and it's less than a year old).  When I
press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, I can see that there's over 50 programs running...
some of them I can identify, but you know how they're all shortened names.

I have a batch file that copies my important files to a backup
directory. Is it possible to copy them to a zip directory?
As there is a zip utility in XP Pro, I think it should be possible
to use it from the command line, still I have not found out how.
