Every now and then, I think after I select 'show all folders' from my
folder options, I discover that I have boatloads of Word documents that
are 1KB in size, and start with "~$", and names that mimic other

I'm working with a new install of XP and I notice about 65 folders in my
Windows folder with names like the Subject, $NtUninstallKB7339$ for

Is there any way to customize the folder views?

I copied the "My Music" folder to the desktop. When I right-click it,
properties tells me it is empty. When I try to delete it, I get an "access
denied" error message. Any other folder on the desktop I can manipulate as
usual.

Trying to play a simple word search game, also a mahjong game.. games play
fine, but on exit the screen goes black, and I have to reboot.. computer

My Dell Laptop's Windows XP Home Edition operating system has become
corrupted and I can only boot in the safe mode. Windows XP was
preinstalled and I am uncertain that I was supplied a backup copy.  A

They used to work, but now, when reading a News Group, if I click on a
highlighted link to a website, nothing happens.  I obviously changed
something somehow ... How do I fix this?

It seems like my computer takes longer and longer to start up. I assume
that this is because there are a bunch of applications that are
starting up when I start up the computer, and are running (needlessly?)
in the background.

when i try to play a file that is on the net anerror keeps appearing saying
my player is not connected to the internet. how do i fix this please and

required are no longer registered or installed on my computer. i then click
