Problem in right side taskbar30 Dec 2006 03:31 GMT1
I am used to have the taskbar at right hand side and 3 columns large.
However, when I logoff or reboot, the taskbar appears with only 2 columns,
even if I have had locked it.
Is there a way to effectively  lock it in 3 columns?

Got a new Windows XP Pro system. Working my way through disabling apps in
startup or where ever appropriate.  I am trying to disable Windows
messenger.  I go to Messenger/tool/ options/preferences and have unchecked
everything and rebooted. Yet it still appears in the tray on ...

Friend has an XP machine that is giving him the following error message when
he tries to boot up...
"disk read error occured, depress ctrl, alt, del to start"
Of course when he hits ctrl, alt, del, it does the same thing again.

Whenever I use any program in Windows Xp and go to File/Open the default
sort order for the files is in reverse alphabetical order with the folders at
the bottom.
How do I get the default restored so that they appear alphabetical again
