I have this exact same problem with my totally brand new custom built pc. I`m using a Sony 19" Monitor with it. Are you using a DVI-VGA converter? I was thinking that may be part of my problem. I very much doubt that it`s at all hard drive related.

I set up networking on my PC just to transfer some files. It appears that Windows added a few new folders such as Shared Documents UserA Documents, UserB Documents. As far as I can tell they simply refer back to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents.

For awhile I had two versions of Windows on my computer. I've since deleted one but I still get it as a boot up option on power up. I had this a few years back and stumbled acroos the solution by accident so I know somewhere theres a command I need to delete.

Running windows xp home and have cd-rom and cdrw installed. Drives show fine in bios but sometimes (most of the time) they do not show up under My Computer in windows. Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Thanks.
