At times the performance of my computer gets intolerably slow and jerky.
When I look in Task Manager there is something called "System inactive
process"[1] using anything from 90 to 99% of the processor.  What is

The most recent posts stop at Oct. 22, 2006.  How do I change this to
show posts up to the present day and hour?  My version of IE is
6.0.2.....

I have this exact same problem with my totally brand new custom built
pc. I`m using a Sony 19" Monitor with it. Are you using a DVI-VGA
converter? I was thinking that may be part of my problem.
I very much doubt that it`s at all hard drive related.

Running windows xp home with only one adminstartor user account set-up that
is password protected.  Don't want to set up any other accounts because I
want to know when my kids are using the computer.  Is there a way to block

when I select a newsgroup, the newsgroup turns blue and remains highlighted
but after reading or selecting one of the subjects the highlighted newsgroup

I set up networking on my PC just to transfer some files. It appears
that Windows added a few new folders such as Shared Documents
UserA Documents, UserB Documents. As far as I can tell they simply
refer back to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents.

create a document in word, but when I go to Documents it won't open.   This

For awhile I had two versions of Windows on my computer. I've since deleted
one but I still get it as a boot up option on power up.
I had this a few years back and stumbled acroos the solution by accident so

Running windows xp home and have cd-rom and cdrw installed.  Drives show fine
in bios but sometimes (most of the time) they do not show up under My
Computer in windows.  Does anyone have any idea why this happens?  Thanks.
